From May and June 2022, Sony is expanding its PlayStation Plus service to include more advantages and functions. While the standard option we have subscribed to for years will remain under a slight rebranding, two more stages are introduced to offer their members more as part of their subscription. PS Plus memberships: All three stages explained

The steps introduced in the PS Plus update from June include many new functions, so the following table is designed as “at a glance” view of what everyone offers. Feel free to take a look at what you can access and then read on to find out more in the individual sections below.

PS Plus Essential explained

The PS Plus Essential level is the one for all current subscribers who want their membership to be continued as it already is. This is simply a rebranding of what we know today as a PS Plus, simply with a new name. As part of your membership, this level offers you a PS5 game and two PS4 games as well as access to online multiplayer, cloud memory and exclusive discounts.

PS Plus Extra explained

If you want to add some PS5 and PS4 bonus games in addition to your PS Plus Base Package, the PS Plus extra level is just the right thing for you. This essentially combines the existing PS Plus and PS now services under one roof with the additional bonus that now contains PS5 titles. This catalog should include up to 400 PS5, PS4 games. All of them will be downloadable.

At the start, the line-up includes Death Stranding, God of War, Marvel’s Spider-Man, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Mortal Kombat 11 and Returnal. For a more complete list of games that should be included in PS Plus, click on the link.

PS Plus Premium explained

As expected, the highest level contains most functions. In addition to everything that is contained in the levels PS Plus Essential and Extra, you also have the option of streaming PS3 games on your console. These titles are only available for streaming; Download options will not be available. This catalog will also extend to PS1, PS2 and PSP titles that can be downloaded. Some of the PS1 and PSP titles are actually updated with memory status and rewind functionality via a new interface. In addition, selected PS1 and PSP games will even offer improved resolutions and image rates.

After all, temporary test versions of newer titles via PS plus premium will be available. You can play for up to two hours and earn trophies during this time. If you choose to buy the game after the game’s test version, your storage data will be transferred.

PS Plus Deluxe explained

If you live in a region where there is no PS3 game streaming, the highest level of PS Plus PS Plus Deluxe is called.
This includes all the advantages of PS plus essential and PS plus extra as well as “A catalog of popular game classics of the original Playstation, PS2 and PSP generations for downloading and playing as well as time-limited trial versions”.
It is essentially PS Plus Premium, only without the opportunity to stream PS3 games.
Although it has been confirmed that the PS Plus Deluxe stage will be cheaper than PS Plus Premium, the official prizes have not yet been announced.
